A Penelope

Alex and Emma were playing outside as I was making dinner and I heard Emma yell, "Alex! I found a penelope! Get the bug container!" Then Alex yelled back, "Hurry, Emma! Get the thing to pick it up [plastic tweezers]!"

When Ethan got home Alex excitedly told him about their find/capture. He said, "Emma found a penelope and we put it in that thing that bugs go in! Then Emma threw it in the grass so the penelope isn't in there anymore!"

Ethan smiled and looked at me with his "they are so young, aren't they funny" look.

Silly Bunnies

Oh, what fun I had dressing the kids up for Easter! Emma picked out her dress months ago and we recently shopped for shoes and other accessories--so fun! The boys practically gag when I say we're going shopping but they did smile a little when I gushed about how handsome they looked in their ties. Nonetheless, I could not get them to hold still or be serious long enough for a "normal" picture. Honestly, though, I love seeing their little personalities captured on "film."

March 22, 1995

On March 22, 1995 David and I met at SLCC's Job Expo, thanks to a little help from my friends. Amy, Tracy and I were working at a booth promoting career/advising services, while David was working at a booth for Packard Bell. It will always be a debate, albeit a friendly one, about who spotted David first. Lucky for me, all three of us had ME in mind when we saw him.

We quickly devised a plan to invite him to an open house (that had yet to be planned). A week or so later I called (in my very professional voice) to personally remind him about the open house. He showed up and our plan worked . . . we exchanged numbers! David says he was onto us the whole time but I'm not sure I believe that!

The Job Expo is held every year and my heart always does a little jump when I see the banners placed on campus. My calendar also gets a star every year so I can remember the exact date (too many kids--my memory is a little fried).
