Blooms on the Way

This picture was taken on June 20th last year . . . there is not a single bloom on my lillies yet but this is what they will look like soon enough. I love these flowers!

Boyfriends

Emma and her school friend, Jace. Lately it's been all about Jace. Can you blame her?! Look how cute he is!! Sometimes they have to be separated from each other because of um, curiosity, and other stuff.

This is Audi's new friend, Max, who lives next door to my mom. Surprisingly, Audi kept her cool (not usually the case around other dogs) and they did not have to be separated. Audi didn't even care when Max took her bone and ran home.

Happy Birthday, Ruby

May 18th is Ruby's birthday. Here is a picture I took of her while in L.A. a couple of weeks ago. I love the hat and the wise look in her eyes (and the freckles on her cheeks that David also has). She is sassy and sweet and I sure do love her. I am one lucky girl--to have a mother-in-law who is just as amazing as my own mom. Wishes for a wonderful birthday, Ruby!

Spring

My lovely bleeding heart plant blooms for a short time in the spring. It reminds me of my friend Kathy, who was my roommate for 10 years. The last time I saw her I was pregnant with Alex and Emma. I haven't heard from her since then. I hope she is doing well.

99 and Counting

David's grandmother, Elvira McWilliams, turned 99 on May 2nd. We spent the weekend in L.A. celebrating her special day and visiting with family. Doesn't she look amazing? I'm pretty sure I won't live to be 99 but if I do I can only hope to have her grace, poise and spunk! We love you, Grandma!

A Happy Place

Isn't it beautiful? We took a weekend trip to L.A. for David's grandmother's 99th birthday (more pictures from that soon). One morning we spent a little time at the beach. I need to live on the beach, or at least visit it WAY more often. I don't think the kids would disapprove . . .
